Collaborating with SEEMiS for our 4th Scottish Public Sector Networking Event

Last week, Bluewave proudly hosted our 4th annual Scottish Public Sector Networking Event – a day dedicated to collaboration, innovation, and sharing ideas across Scotland’s public sector community.

Over the years, Bluewave has worked with organisations across the Scottish Public Sector, including The Scottish National Investment Bank, Education Scotland, DTS Scotland, and Marine Scotland – delivering Salesforce-powered digital transformations that increase efficiency, improve services, and strengthen citizen engagement. Our recent Scottish Public Sector Networking Event was another opportunity to celebrate those partnerships, highlight success stories, and showcase what’s possible when Salesforce technology, Bluewave expertise, and public sector industry knowledge come together.

Partnering with SEEMiS to Deliver Value to Education

This year, we were delighted to partner with SEEMiS, the standard education management information system provider for Scotland. SEEMiS plays a vital role in supporting Scottish education by managing and processing student data across all local authorities. The system interfaces with external agencies such as ScotXed and the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA), ensuring seamless data flow and compliance across the sector. SEEMiS also provides comprehensive support for pupil and staff record management, including tools for Nursery Applications, Attendance, Pastoral Notes, Progress and Achievement, and Reporting. By streamlining these processes, SEEMiS enables schools and local authorities to spend less time on administration and more time focused on delivering excellent education outcomes.

At the event, Dionne Hamilton – Helpdesk Manager at SEEMiS, delivered a fantastic presentation about the organisation’s journey with Bluewave. She charted the organisation’s transformation towards a Salesforce-powered SEEMiS Helpdesk, which evolved into a community-only logging service that improves support delivery. Attendees were treated to a live demonstration of the helpdesk and community login functionality in action, showcasing how schools can now access streamlined, intuitive support that puts user experience first.

Exploring AI and Data Innovation in the Public Sector

Our event’s agenda also featured a range of engaging talks and demonstrations from Bluewave and Salesforce. Paul Mooney – Sales Director and Public Sector Lead at Bluewave, welcomed guests with an overview of the day, before Jennifer Achiro – UK Government VP at Salesforce, gave a talk on how Salesforce is utilising AI and automation to drive transformation within the UK government and wider public sector organisations. Bluewave also delivered a demonstration of AI in action, showcasing how Salesforce’s Agentforce and Einstein AI helped one of our UK public sector customers deliver faster, smarter services. From automating case handling to surfacing actionable insights, the demo highlighted the potential of AI to free up staff time, reduce manual tasks, and improve outcomes for citizens.

Alongside this, attendees enjoyed a session on Tableau, Salesforce’s powerful data visualisation and analytics platform. Tableau empowers organisations to turn raw data into clear, actionable insights through interactive dashboards and reports. For public sector leaders navigating complex challenges – from budget planning to citizen engagement – Tableau provides the clarity needed to make confident, data-driven decisions.

Collaboration, Networking, and Looking Ahead

Of course, the day was not just about presentations – it was about bringing people together. The event began with a sandwich buffet where guests could connect (and re-connect) with peers – some of which are now regular attendees to our yearly event – it then concluded with a lively drinks reception and finger food, rounding off an inspiring day of discussion and networking. Reflecting on the success of the event, one theme stood out above all: the importance of  collaboration within the Scottish Public Sector. Whether it’s through SEEMiS improving education management, the NHS enhancing patient services, or financial institutions like the Scottish National Investment Bank embracing new digital tools – a lot of the problems that these organisations face are actually interlinked. This is where an event like ours comes in – allowing different public sector leaders to recognise commonalities and collaborate to work out joint, or similar, solutions. The future of efficient and effective public service delivery will be defined by these organisations’ ability to leverage technology successfully.

At Bluewave, we are proud to continue supporting this journey. By combining Salesforce’s world-class platforms with our expertise and local partnerships, we’re helping organisations across Scotland embrace change, deliver outstanding services, and create better outcomes for citizens. We’d like to thank everyone who joined us for the 2025 event – and we look forward to continuing these important conversations next year.
