High level technical solution delivered for innovative tech start-up
Property button (formerly known as the Property Channel) manages all aspects of electricity, gas and other utility transfers for estate and lettings agents. An innovative technology start-up, they are based in Dublin. They provide services for letting agents and landlords that allows them to switch utility companies between tenants or leases. With this task previously taking up so much time and admin, Property Button’s portal will speed up the process significantly. And this leads to happier agents, landlords, tenants and the utility companies themselves.
After starting their company’s tech infrastructure on an existing technology stack, they reached the stage where this option was no longer viable. Their subsequent business growth resulted in increased traffic and activity on their portal. With firm growth targets in sight in the coming months and years, Property Button needed a technical solution that was scalable and extensible.
An established technology platform built on proven foundations was also a requirement and Salesforce was chosen as the option best equipped to meet this need. An established platform is only as good as the team on the installation and Bluewave has built a solid reputation as a specialist technology partner.
Once we had a complete understanding of our client’s needs, we began the project by constructing the Salesforce community portal. The portal would give letting agents and landlords unique login access. It will give them the capacity to submit utility change requests and be assured their switch was now in progress through this custom-built solution.
The next phase involved implementing the Salesforce object to represent the data model required. We then needed to build the API calls to account for all the utility companies required. Both end-user and technical training has been developed specifically for this project and will be rolled out in the months prior to internal launch.
A new technology infrastructure means that Property Button is now in the best position to serve their customers through a robust, purpose-built solution. By using Salesforce, they have a platform they can rely on and can be confident that as their business grows, this platform can manage changes in loads or demand.
